VOLUNTEER COACHES:

Our volunteer coaches are vital to our Webasketball Program. They are primarily composed of former players who want to share what they have learned and of parents of kids who are currently playing in the program and who understand that we are teaching something more than just good team basketball. They understand that we strive to help the kids comprehend that while each individual is uniquely important, the player must still integrate and work within the team system. As we say, in a team of 5, 4 is greater than 1. Along with this approach, kids learn self-sacrifice, the value of hard work, determination and confidence.

We have 4 basic levels of players: Beginners, limited, intermediate and advanced. Coaches need to have some experience with the game of basketball, but how much depends on the level the coach is volunteering. Coaches will be supported by the experienced coaches with drills and guidance. In general the time commitment is an hour and 1/2 per week

When played correctly basketball is such a beautiful game, with the ball flying around and players cutting away after each pass. With respect for teammates, opponents, referees and coaches, it makes for a wonderful time of learning and opportunity for friendship.

If you think this might interest you, please contact the head coach of each program, primarily Coach Rick or Coach Mary, and we can discuss the possibility of you joining our staff.
